Western Maine Community Action, in cooperation with the Maine Department of Labor, has created CareerCenter, a statewide network of professionally staffed offices to bring employers and job seekers together.

For Businesses/Employers, CareerCenter is the place to find quality candidates, the resources to help train them and other information you need to compete in today’s economy. We offer a variety of business services designed with your business in mind. We’ll respond promptly to your search needs and it’s free of charge.

Rapid Response is a program to assist workers facing job loss due to downsizing or closures. When an employer must lay off workers, there are several steps to take in order to address the needs of the affected workers and the community. The CareerCenter can advise and assist employers with information about their rights, responsibilities, and obligations during such an event. The goal of the program is to safeguard the economic stability of workers and the surrounding community. The CareerCenter Partners will work together to provide the support and information necessary for employers to act promptly and with confidence.

Job Fairs are held regionally hosted either directly by the CareerCenter or in conjunction with community partners. Employers/businesses attend to recruit qualified candidates for their current or potential hiring needs.
